About

Edie Bound (b. 2002) is an artist based in South London. Like many other sane people she does not enjoy writing about herself, especially when she has to do it in the third person.

Bound doesn’t quite understand why it has to read as if it has been taken from a biography of her life, she is not famous so no one has ever written a biography about her. Maybe she is not famous because she did not study at university, after her foundation year at Camberwell College of Arts she instead chose to work at a ceramic studio whilst pursuing oil painting in her free time.

During this era of her life she mainly produced portraits and figurative work as well as the occasional textile piece or sculpture. Her works tend to have an unfinished feel, this is not because she is lazy; rather she enjoys having the process of the painting visible in the final piece- often leaving sections of underpainting and pencil lines untouched.

In 2025 Edie completed a 4 month traineeship with London Wildlife Trust, during this time she did something no artist has ever done before: became inspired by nature. Since this revelation she has led outdoor woodland folklore walks and bookbinding workshops for participants to make their own tree ID guides.

In addition, Edie also features in the upcoming series of Sky Portrait Artist of the Year, where she absolutely smashed it, omg she was so good, you should commission her before she starts charging millions and millions of pounds for a painting, she would love to paint you!
